The Story of Nonn’s
Nonn’s Flooring was founded over 40 years ago, and over that time, we’ve become one of the largest retailers of flooring in Wisconsin. Since then, we’ve added countertops, cabinets, and appliances to our selection of products, making us the first stop for Wisconsinites looking to create the home interior of their dreams. And with so much more to offer than just flooring, we dropped “Flooring” from our name, which is why today we’re simply known as “Nonn’s.”

Environmental Commitment
We’ve embraced a green and eco-friendly approach to our business in Wisconsin, which is why we’re excited about our efforts to tackle environmental challenges in our industry. Rather than contributing to landfills with carpet, pad, wood, tile, and granite, we’ve initiated a green reclamation program. This initiative has diverted tons of waste annually from ending up in landfills. In just one year, our recycling efforts could fill Camp Randall Stadium to the top!
Show MoreBut this Wisconsin-grown, green, eco-friendly program is only a more recent effort to meet today’s environmental challenges. Since 1998, Nonn’s has participated in the Adopt-A-Highway program to help promote cleaner roadways in Wisconsin. We believe in personally contributing to the effort toward a cleaner environment, so we look forward to our continual participation in the Adopt-A-Highway program.
Nonn’s has also made a concerted effort to offer earth-friendly, green, sustainable products.
For example, bamboo flooring and cork flooring offer the beauty of wood while being highly sustainable products. Bamboo itself completely renews itself in only 5 to 7 years! So sustainable is this remarkable product, the United States Green Building Council’s LEED program allows points for bamboo flooring use. Cork is harvested for cork flooring every 7 to 14 years–without damaging the tree in the process.
Our hard surface selection provide more opportunity to purchase eco-friendly, sustainable products in Wisconsin. For instance, IceStone is made of 100% recycled glass and concrete which otherwise would be wasted. Instead, the materials are reused and made into beautiful, green, and earth-friendly countertops and more.
Nonn’s is also proud to have partnered with Wisconsin Trend Home to construct an environmentally conscious building that features the best in green-friendly products. Carpet fibers made from corn, tile that has been manufactured using recycled tile, as well as cork and bamboo flooring, are just a few of the green flooring products and green surfaces products that were used in the building’s construction. In short, we’re committed to offering products that are not only cutting edge in design, but green, eco-friendly, sustainable products that are better for our environment.
