Six Steps to Easily Transform Your Garage Entry
For most of us, that little entry space inside the garage (the spot where you step out of your car and up to your door) is one of the most overlooked spaces in the home. It gets ignored, piled up, and written off as purely functional. But you can transform even this forgotten space into an entry you will genuinely love.
The idea? Turn that garage entry into a welcoming spot where you can kick off your shoes and unwind before heading inside. Here’s how:
• Start with a bench. Choose a bench and add a soft cushion and a few throw pillows, so it is genuinely inviting to sit while you put on and take off your shoes.
• Add hooks. A row of hooks keeps bags, coats, and dog leashes right where you need them, while also maintaining organization.
• Mount a shelf. Style your shelf with some framed prints and a few faux plants to add life without any upkeep.
• Tuck baskets or bins beneath the bench. They make an excellent home for shoes, sweaters, mittens, and anything else you need to leave at the door.
• Define the space underfoot. A welcome mat by the door grounds the whole look.
• Dress up the door. Paint it a cheerful shade (think soft pink or yellow) and hang a fresh wreath, so the doorway itself becomes a warm welcome.
